What Is Leaders In Training? (L.I.T.)

Leaders in Training is a discipleship ministry for children in the 5th and 6th (or 4th and 5th) grades. L.I.T. is an effective program that encourages rapid personal growth in preteens through teaching spiritual disciplines and equipping students for ministry. By teaching spiritual disciplines, L.I.T. helps preteens learn how to have a relationship with Christ and how to walk with Him on a daily basis. The L.I.T. student devotionals work through the disciplines of the Cross and teach preteens and their families what it means to live a life of obedience to Christ.

There are two primary components of Leaders in Training: Disciple Groups (small group time) and Ministry Training.

1Disciple Groups At the weekly meetings, the Disciple Group leader reviews what the preteens have studied during the week and helps them apply what they have learned the past week. The leader teaches their group how to pray, how to share their faith, and much more. The students learn spiritual disciplines as they grow in their faith in Christ.

4Ministry TrainingL.I.T. is committed to equip and train preteens for ministry. Part of the fun and appeal for children is ministry training time during the program. Ministry training can consist of many ministry training opportunities for preteens.
