How to Start N.K./L.I.T.

BEGINNING NEHEMIAH KIDS AND/OR LEADERS IN TRAINING

Neheniah Kids/Leaders in Training is a paradigm shift for many churches today. It is a different philosophy of ministy—which will be challanging—but the rewards are great. What you are suggesting bringing into your church is a totally new concept of children's ministry. People in your church will question what you are doing because it is not the norm. Tradition at times has crippled the church from effective ministry to children. Here are some suggestions to help you educate your people on the full potential of children and preteens:

   - Pray for the leadership of the Holy Spirit as you share this new vision with your chuch.

   - Share videos with your leaders and allow them to see children in ministry and hear the testimonies of parents whose children's lives have been changed. The ministry will explain itself when the parents and leaders see what kids can do. You can email these links to videos of parents and leaders from this web site.    - Talk with your pastor and tell him about this ministry. Show him the videos and copy of the materials for the children.

   - Host a parent information meeting. Show the videos of preteens in ministry along with parent testimonies of changed lives. Talk with parents and go through the "What Is L.I.T.?" PowerPoint included with the PDF file disc. Get copies of the student devotional materials and make them available for parents to go through.

   - Set up a time to show the videos to the children and preteens of your church. They will get excited about serving the Lord.

When your church and leadership approve you beginning the N.K. and/or L.I.T. ministry, you should allow ample time to prepare and plan to get started. N.K. and L.I.T. require tremendous responsibility, but the benefits are well worth it.
